What FritFrit is
FritFrit records shared expenses and works out who owes whom. It is a notebook that does arithmetic. It is not a payment service, a bank, an escrow, an accountant or a lawyer.
FritFrit never moves money. It holds no card, initiates no transfer and confirms none. When you tap “Pay”, it draws a standard SEPA payment code containing the recipient’s IBAN and the amount, which your own banking app reads — the transfer happens entirely in your bank, between you and the other person. Marking a debt as settled in FritFrit records that you say it was settled. It is a note between the two of you, and nothing else.
Your account
You sign in with an e-mail address and a 6-digit code. There is no password. Keep access to that mailbox: anybody who can read it can sign in as you. You must be at least 16.
What you put in it
The expenses, names, notes and photos you add are yours. You keep them; FritFrit stores them so that your groups work and does nothing else with them. Do not put things in a group that the other members of that group should not see — everyone in a group can read that group.
Do not use FritFrit to store other people’s personal data without a reason to, to break the law, or to attack the service.
Free, and what is not
Joining groups and using them is free, forever, without limit. You can be in any number of groups, add any number of expenses and settle up as often as you like without paying anything. Everyone you invite joins free.
The one thing a plan unlocks is creating a group. Three products exist: a monthly subscription, a yearly subscription and a one-time lifetime purchase. The subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends; the lifetime purchase never renews. Prices are set per country by the app stores and are shown to you before you buy. All charges, renewals, cancellations and refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their terms, in your store account settings — FritFrit has no card details and cannot take a payment or issue a refund itself.
If a plan ends, exactly one thing changes: you can no longer create a new group. Every group you are already in keeps working in full — the ledger, the balances, settling up, exporting your data. Your data is never held hostage.
Availability, and what happens if something breaks
FritFrit works offline: your phone holds its own copy and syncs when it can. There is no uptime promise. The service is provided as it is, and to the extent the law allows there is no warranty that it will be uninterrupted or error-free.
Check your own numbers before you send anybody money. FritFrit computes what it is told; if an expense was entered wrongly, the balance will be wrong too. Liability for a payment made on the strength of a figure in this app cannot be accepted, and nothing here is financial or legal advice. Nothing in these terms limits liability for intent, gross negligence, or anything else the law does not allow to be limited.
Ending it
You can delete your account at any time from Settings. Doing so removes your profile and your login; the groups you were in keep their history, because those expenses are part of other people’s balances — your members become placeholders that keep the display name. The privacy policy describes this exactly.
Access may be suspended for an account being used to attack the service or to break the law.
Changes
These terms may change. A change that matters will be announced in the app before it takes effect, not only by editing this page.
Law
[JURISDICTION — placeholder.] Nothing here removes rights that consumer law in your country of residence gives you and does not allow to be waived.
